The Warrenton Branch of the Scenic Regional Library kicked off their next story time theme, weather, on March 4th. After reading stories about weather, the story time listeners created their own weather books! The American Psychological Association says that programs such as this, where young children are being read to enthusiastically, are very beneficial for these early readers. A 10 cent tax levy increase means more early literacy programs for our growing population. The 10 cent levy was created 55 years ago, when the population of Warren County was 8,750. Warren county’s population in 2010 was 32,513, yet the library is still funded to serve a population much smaller than that.
Vote YES on April 8th so Scenic Regional Library can continue to provide early literacy services like this for Warren county residents and all other members of the Scenic Regional Library system!
